About the event

Come away from your modern lifestyle and get back to basics and simplicity. Step away from the stresses and complications of modern day living and give yourself the opportunity to slow down your mind, nourish the soul and give yourself the permission to be playful. By feeling the aliveness of nature around you brings space for reflection, curiosity and creativity. 

You will have a hands-on immersive experience of yoga, meditation, foraging, making fire using primitive techniques, rustic bread making and the ancient art of cleansing our bodies and minds by building an outdoor sauna.  

Learn these ancestral skills and ways you can introduce these skills into your everyday modern lives. 

You will have the comfort of glamping in cosy shepherd huts with each of them having their own wood burner if you need the extra warmth. 

You will have delicious, wholesome, home cooked (predominantly organic) vegan/ vegetarian Meals, prepared by our onsite Eat yourself well specialist, Helena Meloy. The menu has been specially chosen to feed the body and nourish the soul during the weekend. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks will be provided. There will be alternative options for people that have special dietary requirements. 

Oh, and did we mention there’s a zip wire, we will cooking berry brownies in cardboard box ovens and you will have the opportunity to fly during an acro yoga session. On the Saturday night we will relax by the fire with a few medicinal liqueur shots made with foraged ingredients. 

What will happen on the weekend?

You will be greeted by the hosts Wendy and Sarah and taken to a secluded, private woodlands where we will sleep, eat and retreat while enjoy a variety of  bushcraft, yoga and meditation workshops over the weekend. Our glamping accommodation is in Shepard huts that are communal, we endeavour to allocate your sleeping arrangements so they you are staying with friends or the same sex, fresh bedding is included. More venue information will be sent to you after booking.  We have a dedicated yoga space with a wood burner, so if weather changes this will act as a warm space for workshops. To get the most out of your weekend we would encourage you to participate in as many workshops as possible, but you can choose to take free time whenever you want.  

Weekend Itinerary

FRIDAY

5:00-6:15         Arrival and snacks            Settle into your weekend living space. 

6:15-6:45 Forest yoga session         Unwind From your journey with gentle Hatha Yoga class in the forest with Sarah

7:00-7:30         Introductions                Introduction to the weekend and getting to know each other.

7:30-8:30 Dinner                        Delicious and nutritious vegan dinner activity to start unwinding for your weekend. 

 8:30-9:30 Intention fire               Relax by the fire and learn how to make string with natural materials. A very mindful activity to start unwinding for your weekend. 

9:30–10:00      Guided Relaxation          Preparing the body for deep rest

SATURDAY 

7:30- 8:15 Vinyasa Yoga                Invigorating Vinyasa Flow to bring aliveness to the body.

8:15-8:30    Snack                        Fruit, nuts and tea available

8:30-9:30         Morning walk                Brisk walk in the surrounding area to immerse your body in nature and connect with the ground 

9:30-10:30 Breakfast                          Enjoy a nutritious breakfast to start your day 

10:30-11:00 Free time                          Time for you…

11:00- 11:45 Foraging                         Learn about plants and trees that are easy to identify and how they can be used for food, medicine or other bushcraft purposes. 

11:45- 12:00 Break                         Time for you…

12:00- 1:00 Fire lighting techniques   Learn a variety of fire lighting techniques, from modern day techniques to primitive methods. This will include flint and steel and friction fire lighting. 

1:00 -2:30 Sauna making                 As a group we will build an outdoor sauna and learn the ancient art of cleansing our bodies and minds. 

2:30-3:00         Lunch                         A delicious vegan lunch with vegetarian options.

3:00-4:00         Making berry brownies     We will make a dessert to have later on this evening using a unique cooking style.  

4:00-4:30         Fire building                     Put into practise the skills you learnt in the fire lighting technique session to build a fire together for the sauna and cooking the brownies

4:30-6:00       Aromatherapy workshop     Learn some Aromatherapy basics to take into your everyday lives.

6:00-7:00         Yoga                                   A fun introduction to Acro Yoga

7:30- 8:30 Dinner                          Delicious vegan dinner

9:30 -10:30 Fire & shots                  Relax by the fire together and enjoy some wild medicinal shots made with foraged ingredients. 

SUNDAY

 

7:30- 8:30 Yoga & meditation       Yin Yoga class with extended meditation to relax the mind 

8:30- 8:45 Light breakfast        Fruit, nuts, tea and coffee

10:00- 11:00 Brunch & bread making Make your own rustic bread to have with your brunch.
